Taren Patterson began his engineering career building foundational internet infrastructure and has worked across every major era of the network since — from early digital switching and broadband architecture through content delivery, 5G wireless policy systems, and data science at scale. His career spans organizations including Oracle, Santera Systems (a soft-switch and media gateway supplier), and Nortel Networks.
He has been recognized as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and served as the lead technical liaison to Verizon Wireless on behalf of Tekelec — a signaling and policy infrastructure firm subsequently acquired by Oracle — operating at the intersection of carrier-grade system design and large-scale enterprise deployment.
Patterson holds U.S. Patent 8,750,825 for systems optimization and cost containment. That foundation in high-availability, security-first architecture defines how Veritas was designed — from its verified data model to its on-domain sovereignty approach and its MCP-ready architecture for the agentic era.
